Hello, I'm

butch leiber

I humbly ask for your vote at the Board of Director's Meeting on March 28, 2024

Candidate Statement :
Butch Leiber

I'm running for state treasurer because I'm deeply committed to our industry. I've held an Arizona license since 2002 and currently serve as a managing broker for Realty Executives Phoenix/Yuma. Our state association has incredible leaders and I'd like to continue that trend. The Treasurer works with staff to be good stewards of our member's money, and to be the voice of the member. I'm up for that role.

I earned my broker's license to better understand the business and to elevate the industry's standards. Teaching CE Classes has allowed me to share knowledge and improve the Realtor® community. As a managing broker, I focus on helping agents become better professionals and genuinely believe that by prioritizing service, we can succeed in business.

My leadership journey, from the Legislative Affairs committee to President of Phoenix Realtors®, has been driven by a desire to make a difference for both clients and the industry. Serving at the state level will enable me to continue to feed my passion to contribute and lead. Thank you for this opportunity.

My Core Values

Ever since that first time I raised my hand to help back in kindergarten, I've been volunteering to make a difference for others. I run my businesses in service of others. My life and my career is about people living free creating a world that works for everyone.

I will bring this commitment to the role of treasurer if you put your trust in me to do so. Operating from being of service is vital but without integrity, nothing works. My favorite definition of integrity is "doing the right thing, even when no one is watching." It's also about doing what you say you'll do by when you say you'll do it. This is how I live all areas of my life.

Also important in my world view is to continue to learn, and grow. Keep an open mind and be willing to see other people's perspectives. This industry has it's challenges and we need to work together, for all of our members, for the industry and Arizona homeowners.

Lastly, I do believe that anything is possible. With partnership, teamwork, and focus we can achieve great things.

"Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them."

Remember the movie Beetlejuice – a comedy about a newly deceased couple whose spirits get stuck in their old house. There’s a scene where they are stuck in the attic, in front of a brick wall with no idea how to get to out. On a nearby table, they see a handbook that says, “in case of emergency, draw a door.” So, they pick up a piece of chalk and they draw a door. And it opens... into a new world.

I believe we all live by a set of (mostly) invisible rules that we didn’t create, we didn’t agree to and we’re blind to the limits they put on our lives. Our rules allow us to operate fluidly through life – until they don’t. We are often blind to the limitations our rules have on our ability to make choices in life – and they end up getting in the way of having and achieving what is really important to us.

It’s as if our invisible rules build a wall, a wall that can feel very real, and can be the invisible barrier that keeps us from our goals and dreams on the other side—with no way to get there. And that's where there's an opportunity to Draw a Door®, to create opportunity when none exists, and step forward into a new future.

Drawing a door is identifying the rules that constrain us and creating new opportunities. That's how I approach life - what else here is possible?

The YES! image was created by my friend Jon Marro and signifies that with focus, intention and work, any idea can burst forth into existence, regardless of the circumstances
